As the wood naturally weathers, it takes on light silvery grey tones which means there is no need to apply annual sealers. A Garapa deck is resistant to rot, decay, splinters, scratches, and even fire Ð naturally without any chemical treatments.

Brazilian Ashwood, also known as Brazilian Ash, is a dense and naturally durable Brazilian timber. Its golden colour, fine grain and moderate cost make it an attractive alternative to more expensive hardwoods such as Teak or Ipe for decking. The light colour also makes it attractive for a deck that will have heavy sun exposure but will not become overly hot to the touch.
